One of the best teams in the world and a reigning European champion – our very own iNNERFiRE WoW team, has a new addition in the face of Dave “Stgeorge” Hatton. The Englishman is well-known for his play with eDwags, a team that managed to finished 3rd at Blizzard Regionals and also 3rd at ESL Invitationals, where it was knocked out by his new teammates from iNNERFire. More for the Priest of London you can find out in the exclusive interview, that he gave for the community of if-gaming.org.

Dave “Stgeorge” Hatton will replace Phenolol, as the Russian decided that he wants to play with his fellow-countrymen, a decision, which everybody in our team accepts and respects. All of us sincerely wish him good luck.

More information about the upcoming tournaments in front of iNNERFiRE WoW, you can find soon at our website.

Hi David and welcome to our eSports family. Please present yourself.

Hey im Dave, 21 from London, UK. Im a Games Design student, currently studying at Staffordshire University, and in the majority of my spare time i like to play WoW.

Games design, that is really interesting I would say. Does that give you an advantage when it comes to competetive gaming ?

I like to think so, I feel thanks to the 1000s of hours of practice and theorycrafting i've put into competitive WoW arena that when we are discussing theories of balance and tactics in our curriculum, i have a great advantage. Studying games design has really helped my polish off my tactical play more then anything, trying to use all the game mechanics in my teams favour.

What kind of games do you want to create or be part of the creation when the time comes?

Apart from 3d studio and motion capture software, the main Games engine we are using at the moment is the Unreal engine. I'm currently in the middle of designing an FPS capture the flag map, that brings elements of LoS, team work, and a DoTa style playin field with choke points, 'farming' areas with powerful pickups and utilitiy, and ultimately base invasion. My aspiration is to end up developing games which involve not jus great AI, art, and story, but an amazing competitive, balanced playin field for eSports. I've had a glimpse of the eSports scene while competing at the WoW Regionals and ESL invitational finals, and its the part of the Gaming industry which I want to contribute to, not just as a player, but as a developer.

What are your expectations for the upcoming tournaments? How do you feel for your new team and teammates ?

I'm excited to continue competing in the upcoming tournaments, there are alot of great European and American teams alike, and new innovative comps are turning up every few months. I'm excited to be joining iNNERFiRE, i've followed the progress of the team in the past and have been impressed with the placings and prize money they have brought home. Desis and Coold my new teams mates have been very welcoming and i'm excited to practice with them more this week when the ESL qualifiers begin.

Any teams or setups that you are scared of ?

I'd like to say im a bit worried of anything with a decent warrior in it, but im sure Coold can keep them shivering in there boots :). Enigmz Another and Inflame's SK EU team are daunting, but not quite scary, me and Desis have been discussing some tactics. Im really looking forward to the RMP mirrors once again this season, they are scary, rewarding, and fast paced!

Anything you wold like to add ?

Nothing particular, looking forward to seeing out the qualifiers and getting some action going so i can help represent iNNERFiRE :) Just arranging some playing times with Desis and Coold atm :)
